Summary
The Accessioning Technician II performs an essential role in the specimen life cycle at the lab. Technicians are responsible for maintaining accurate records in the Laboratory Information Systems and coordinating the transport of slide materials with providers and clinics when necessary
Job Responsibilities
- Properly label individual blocks and slides.
- Enter patient data from blocks and slides into the LIS (ClearPath and Intellipath)
- Routinely check data entry for accuracy.
- File slides that have been processed by providers each day.
- Maintain organization of slides, keeping records according to state and federal guidelines.
- Update slide notes and file the updated slides as necessary.
- Send requested materials to slide prep doctors, including case summaries and requisitions.
- Provide couriers with materials to transport between the lab and clinic sites as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma (required)
- Prior experience with data entry or billing (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology knowledge (preferred)
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
