Reports To: Clinical Team Supervisor
Job Summary: Clinical Skills used daily to include but not limited to taking patient medical history, preparing patients for examinations, assisting the provider or physician during the exam, proper patient documentation, and other duties as assigned. In addition, excellence in customer service, aesthetic support to include patient photos, proper pre and post care knowledge as related to cosmetic product and procedures

Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Assist in rooming patients for their examination. Gathers patient’s history information and under the direction of the provider, distributes and discusses educational information to the patient.
· Provide excellent customer service to all clients
· Assist providers with patient care as requested including assistance with cosmetic and/or aesthetic procedures
· Comfortability in taking patient before and after photos
· Prepare the room and the patient for all procedures
· Collection of all needed supplies
· Collection of patient consents- prior to the procedure
· Decontaminate and sterilize equipment and instruments as required.
· Measure and record vital signs, visual acuity, and perform other patient care procedures.
· Accurately and in a timely manner, document patient care and related data in the electronic medical record
· Maintain records and logs as required and documents all patient contacts in the medical record.
· Promptly answers and returns phone calls handling clinical concerns per physician’s standing orders in addition to appropriately handling prescription refills per physician’s standing order.
· Assures exam rooms are properly stocked at sufficient levels.
· Triage patient phone calls, either scheduling same day sick appointment or advising patients of other options based on medical condition.
· Attend OSHA and HIPAA training, as directed.
· Attend and participate in clinic meetings.
· Participate in all clinical quality initiatives as directed.
· Ability to travel between multiple locations as needed
· Other duties as assigned.
Education:
· Certificate in clinical field preferred, but not required.
Experience:
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience clinical Medical Assistant role preferred
· Minimum of 2 years in a dermatology or med-spa clinic preferred
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of clinical processes and principles.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology, practice protocols and standards, HIPAA and OSCHA policy and requirements
Skills:
1. Skill in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
2. Excellent service and communication skills
3. Excellent attention to detail as related to patient care.
Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate clearly with many different levels of staff.
2. Ability to make sound clinical judgements decisions and weigh risks.
3. Ability to analyze medical records and documentation and identify problem areas.
3. Ability to collaborate effectively.
4. Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, appropriate EMR and practice management software preferred. *Experience in Modernizing Medicine and EMA a plus
Equipment Operated: Standard clinical and office equipment.
Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam rooms. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and other conditions common in clinic settings. Light lifting up to 20 lbs and ability to physically support patients as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Medical Assistant experience or the equivalent thereof in a high-volume medical setting with the ability to read, write and interpret medical terminology, dermatology a plus.
- Completion of a technical/vocational training school program with either CMA, AAMA, RMA, or CCMA Medical Assistant certification -OR- Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred.
- Previous experience scribing in the room for the Provider.
- Current CPR, First Aid or BLS certificate
- Ability to speak other languages a plus.
Working Conditions
- Required to move from one location to another within and outside of the building; push, pull and reach; bend; stand, walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work 8-10+ hour shifts and be available for overtime when necessary.
- Must be able to speak and write English fluently.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
On-Site Presence Required and must have reliable transportation.
Hours: TBD based upon department needs between the hours of 7:00am-5:30pm as assigned - 4 Day work week
