Job Description:
This practice seeks a Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon ready to develop and grow their own Mohs surgery volume while also providing general dermatology care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing general dermatology as they build their Mohs caseload over time. You’ll work closely with dermatology specialists and support staff to ensure the highest quality of care, while developing strong patient relationships.
Responsibilities:
- 1-2 days per week: Perform Mohs micrographic surgery.
- Build your own Mohs volume by developing relationships with patients and referring providers.
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care.
- Interpret pathology slides and provide immediate feedback to patients.
- Collaborate with dermatologists and other medical professionals in patient care planning.
- Educate patients on their diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery process.
- Stay current with advancements in Mohs surgery techniques and skin cancer treatment.
- 1-3 days per week: Provide general / medical dermatology care.
- Diagnose and treat various common dermatological conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, and psoriasis.
- Conduct routine skin cancer screenings and manage pre-cancerous lesions (e.g., actinic keratosis).
- Provide non-surgical treatments such as topical medications, oral therapies, and phototherapy.
- Offer guidance on skincare routines, sun protection, and overall skin health.
- Manage chronic dermatological conditions through long-term treatment and monitoring.
- Educate patients on the early detection of skin cancers and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with the broader healthcare team to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible dermatologic surgeon with fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery (MD/DO).
- 2025 Mohs Fellows are encouraged to apply.
- Valid medical license to practice in California.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Mohs surgery, including tissue preservation techniques.
- Ability to build and grow your own Mohs surgery volume while managing general dermatology.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of surgical precision.
