Job Summary: In addition to performing assigned medical assistant duties, the Medical Assistant Lead will support the Clinical Team Supervisor through oversight and training of the clinical MA team to include individual and team training, onboarding and audit of the assigned medical assistant team members as related to clinical skillsets, proper documentation within the patient chart and service excellence. Will also provide medical assistant coverage to the team(s) as assigned or as needed

Primary Job Responsibilities: • Provide weekly/monthly audits of assigned medical assistant team members • Provide onboarding training for newly hired medical assistants • Provide ongoing training and education to the medical assistant team members • Provide timely oversight of quality initiatives and requirements • Perform Medical Assistant duties as assigned or as needed • Attend OSHA and HIPAA training, as directed. • Attend and participate in clinic meetings. • Ability to travel between multiple locations as needed • Other duties as assigned
Education: • Medical Assistant Certification Experience: • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in healthcare related field in clinical Medical Assistant role preferred • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Dermatology preferred
Performance Requirements: Knowledge: 1. Knowledge of clinical processes and principles.2. Knowledge of medical terminology, practice protocols and standards, HIPAA and OSHA policy and requirements
Skills: 1. Skill in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness. 2. Excellent communication skills 3. Excellent attention to detail as related to patient care.
Abilities: 1. Ability to communicate clearly with many different levels of staff. 2. Ability to make sound clinical judgements decisions and weigh risks. 3. Ability to analyze medical records and documentation and identify problem areas. 3. Ability to collaborate effectively. 4. Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, appropriate EMR and practice management software preferred. *Experience in Modernizing Medicine and EMA a plus Equipment Operated: Standard clinical and office equipment. Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam rooms. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and other conditions common in clinic settings. Light lifting up to 20 lbs and ability to physically support patients as needed.
