Job Summary:
The Part-Time Front Office Receptionist will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient patient registration and providing outstanding customer service. The individual in this position will use our medical systems to verify patient information and insurance coverage while creating a warm and welcoming environment for patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in person and over the phone, providing information and resolving inquiries.
- Check in patients and document their arrivals in the Practice Management System (EMR).
- Verify patient data by confirming their date of birth and name; create new accounts as necessary.
- Prepare patient paperwork ahead of appointments.
- Contact patients with missed appointments to reschedule and update appointment records in the system.
- Schedule patient appointments in a way that maximizes satisfaction and efficient use of doctor and facility time.
- Assist in emergency situations by effectively managing patient needs and concerns.
- Review and maintain patient information accuracy in the Practice Management System (EMR).
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist in obtaining necessary authorizations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Collect patient payments during check-in and ensure proper handling of financial information.
- Safeguard patient privacy by adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Follow established operational policies and report any changes or issues as necessary.
- Contribute effectively to teamwork and collaboration with other staff members.
- Demonstrate excellence in customer service during all interactions.
- Maintain professionalism when answering phone calls and addressing concerns.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service, particularly in a healthcare setting, is preferred.
