Position Overview:
The Medical Receptionist in Winston Salem, NC, will be an integral part of our front office team, providing exceptional service and support to our patients. This role demands a friendly demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage front desk operations efficiently while ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional welcome, both in person and via phone, addressing inquiries and directing them accordingly.
- Document patient arrivals and ensure accurate check-in/check-out processes using our Practice Management System (EMR).
- Verify patient identities through date of birth and name; create new accounts for new patients as needed.
- Prepare necessary paperwork and documentation prior to patient appointments to ensure a smooth check-in experience.
- Proactively contact patients who have missed appointments to reschedule them and properly document these interactions.
- Enhance patient satisfaction by interacting positively and efficiently handling appointment bookings.
- Respond promptly to any patient inquiries or needs that arise, using professional judgment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and insurance verification processes.
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, organized, and welcoming.
- Process patient copays and outstanding balances during check-in/out.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Support the overall team in achieving practice goals and promoting a positive patient experience.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
