Position Summary
The Mohs Histotech in Hickory, NC, plays a vital role in supporting our Mohs surgical team by preparing and processing tissue specimens with precision and efficiency. This position is responsible for producing high-quality slides, maintaining laboratory quality standards, and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and section frozen tissue specimens using Mohs micrographic surgical techniques.
- Process, embed, and stain tissue samples accurately to facilitate examination by the Mohs surgeon.
- Perform quality assurance procedures to ensure slides meet laboratory and clinical standards.
- Document all procedures according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine troubleshooting as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with clinical and surgical teams to support efficient workflow and outstanding patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile laboratory environment.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with histology techniques and best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory and clinical operations.
