Plastic Surgery Experience Required

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide education on surgical procedures and post-operative care plans.
- Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Assist with post-operative recovery, including dressing changes, monitoring vitals, and providing wound care.
Clinical Support:
- Support surgeons during procedures by preparing the operating room, managing surgical instruments, and maintaining sterility.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including IVs and injections.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
Patient Advocacy:
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the medical team, addressing concerns and fostering a reassuring environment.
- Educate patients and families about aftercare and answer questions to promote understanding and compliance.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and medical staff to coordinate care.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training to stay current on best practices and protocols.
QualificationsPost High School education in a medical support field:
Registered Nurse License Required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1-2 years of recent experience in a plastic surgery in a similar capacity is preferred
Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
Must possess organizational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
