Summary
The Coder researches and analyzes data needs for reimbursement. They work behind scenes in a variety of settings, ensuring all pertinent information is coded appropriately to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies
- Serves as resource and subject matter expert to other coding staff
- Reviews and verifies documentation supports diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical Coder Certification CPC, CCS, CPC-A or CCA
- 2 years of experience coding
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information
- Strict attention to details
