The company integrates multi-location, multi-legal entity acquisitions and is building out its accounting function to support its continued expansion.

Summary

The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the success of DOCS M&A strategy, overseeing financial integrations, purchase accounting, audit execution, and process improvements. The Assistant Controller is responsible for executing fundamentals while mentoring and developing the accounting team.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Close & Audit Readiness

Lead the month-end close process
Balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain audit-readiness.

Process Improvement

Identify and implement process efficiencies to support company growth- including automation and system enhancements.

Team Leadership & Development

Serve as a mentor to accounting staff by providing guidance, training, and professional development.

M&A Integration

Assist with the integration of acquired entities including AP/AR, banking, credit cards, purchase accounting, lease accounting, and general ledger consolidation.

Resource & Prioritization Management

Manage priorities while maintaining structure and organization.
Systems & Technology
Leverage NetSuite and other accounting systems to streamline financial operations and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

8-15 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Experience in M&A integration, financial consolidations, and purchase accounting is strongly preferred.
Public accounting background preferred.
Proven ability to lead a team, drive process improvements, and manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and audit processes.
Experience with system integrations and ERP implementations preferred.
Ability to identify issues, communicate effectively, and take ownership of projects.
