I am applying for the Mohs Histotechnician role at your Concord location. As an ASCP HT and QIHC
certified Histotechnician with 23+ years of histology experience and continuous frozen section
experience since 2001, I offer the accurate and efficient specimen preparation your Mohs surgeons
require. I independently manage night shift histology workflow with STAT TAT for surgical cases, so I
understand the pressure of getting it right the first time.
At Elliot Hospital, I embed and section routine and complex skin, breast, and LEEP cervical biopsies with
focus on precise orientation of epithelial surfaces and margins for diagnostic evaluation. This is the same
skill set Mohs requires: identifying inked margins, mapping tissue, and producing quality sections for
immediate diagnosis while the patient waits.
My frozen section background is extensive. At Brigham & Women's Hospital, I performed STAT frozen
sections on human and rodent tissue for research investigators with rapid H&E staining and cryostat
maintenance. At Pfizer/Wyeth, I handled advanced GLP frozen sectioning on complex specimens
including undecalcified bone using Cryo-Jane tape transfer – a technique that demands the same tissue
handling precision as Mohs.
I am proficient in Epic Beaker, CAP/CLIA compliance, and artifact troubleshooting on skin and delicate
tissues. My QIHC certification and 23+ years of IHC/ISH experience also allow me to support your
dermatopathology needs beyond Mohs when needed.
