The Dermatology Centers of Indiana is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our multi-site dermatology and medical aesthetics group. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, supporting patient care, and delivering a positive experience across our clinics, including Greenwood, Center Grove, Plainfield, and Zionsville, as well as future locations throughout the region.

About the Role
The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting day-to-day clinical operations while ensuring a seamless patient experience. This role works closely with providers and the clinical team to prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, manage patient intake, and maintain accurate documentation. The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical proficiency, attention to detail, and strong communication skills while maintaining professionalism and empathy in every patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies, and preparing procedure trays as needed
- Escort patients to exam rooms, record vitals, and collect patient history, medications, and reason for visit
- Assist providers with clinical procedures such as suture removal, wart/mole removal, and minor surgeries
- Prepare specimens for lab analysis, submit results to providers, and maintain accurate patient charts
- Schedule diagnostic tests, procedures, and referrals, providing patients with instructions and coordinating with testing facilities or other providers
- Contact hospitals, pharmacies, and outside providers to coordinate patient care and relay information as directed
- Pre-certify medications and referrals with insurance providers and document appropriately
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, order replenishments, and ensure proper storage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, labs, and reception areas
- Follow safety and confidentiality protocols to protect patients, staff, and physicians
- Communicate with providers and office leadership regarding issues that impact patient care and clinic operations
Qualifications
- Licensed Medical Assistant or higher nursing degree
- Minimum of 1 year of dermatology medical office experience required
- Proficiency in taking patient vitals, injections, sterile techniques, exam room preparation, and routine lab procedures
- Experience with charting, documentation, and patient communication
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
- Experience with Modernizing Medicine / EMA EMR highly preferred
