We are a leading medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in skin, hair, and nail conditions, Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer, surgical and non-surgical cosmetic skincare, anti-aging, body contouring, and plastic surgery.
This dual-role position functions primarily as a Skin Care Product Specialist (4 days/week) and as a Licensed Aesthetician (1 day/week). The role is responsible for driving cosmetic product sales, providing expert product education, and delivering professional aesthetic treatments. This individual works closely with physicians and leadership to ensure patients receive comprehensive skin care support, from clinical recommendations to retail product guidance and aesthetic services.
Essential Functions – Product Specialist (Primary Role –4 Days/Week)
● Serve as the primary liaison transitioning patients from the physician to the aesthetic/retail portion of the practice.
● Collaborate closely with physicians to understand product preferences and effectively communicate recommended skincare regimens to patients.
● Educate patients on skin structure, physiology, and product ingredient efficacy.
● Conduct comprehensive product consultations and provide tailored recommendations.
● Drive growth of cosmetic product sales and meet established sales goals.
● Provide product education and training to staff.
● Maintain in-depth knowledge of all product lines and ingredients through ongoing training.
● Manage product inventory, ordering, and stock organization.
● Utilize analytical tools to generate reports on product sales, inventory, referrals, patient contact lists, and campaign performance.
● Track and measure success of product promotions, specials, and marketing initiatives.
● Coordinate with Marketing to support events, campaigns, and promotions.
● Maintain organized retail displays and ensure product areas are clean and fully stocked.
● Present a highly professional image and deliver exceptional customer service.
● Answer phones, schedule appointments, register patients, and collect payments as needed.
Essential Functions – Licensed Aesthetician (1 Day/Week)
● Utilize the skin care process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) to provide individualized patient care.
● Perform skin consultations, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, Blu-U treatments, and other approved aesthetic services.
● Implement physician orders in accordance with established policies and collaborate on customized skin care plans.
● Recognize signs and symptoms requiring physician referral and escalate appropriately.
● Prepare, administer, and document treatments and therapies per policy.
● Document patient responses and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with providers.
● Maintain aesthetic equipment and ensure all tools are in proper working order.
● Monitor and organize aesthetic supplies and inventory.
● Document return visits, referrals, and scheduling using EMA, eClinicalWorks, or current practice management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience:
● Active California Esthetician License (California State Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology).
● 1–2 years of dermatology or aesthetic experience preferred.
● Previous medical aesthetic or retail sales experience strongly preferred.
● Experience in dermatology or medical practice aesthetic sales preferred.
● College degree or aesthetic certification preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
● Strong understanding of skin physiology and cosmetic ingredients.
● Superior written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong sales aptitude and ability to influence and educate.
● Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
● Proficient with EMR/practice management systems.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize workload.
Physical Requirements
● Sitting and/or standing up to 8 hours per day.
● Frequent transitions between sitting and standing.
● Ability to perform aesthetic procedures requiring manual dexterity.
