POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is exclusively for Fridays and requires a skilled Mohs Histotech to provide expert histotechnology services in support of Mohs micrographic surgery. The role includes preparation, staining, and quality control of tissue specimens while working closely with dermatologic surgeons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and section frozen tissue specimens utilizing Mohs surgical techniques specifically on Fridays.
- Perform histological staining and slide preparation with precision and adherence to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain quality control and ensure accurate documentation of all procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot as needed during Friday shifts.
- Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards (CLIA, OSHA).
- Maintain a clean, sterile work environment and proper tissue disposal.
- Participate in continuing education and training specific to Mohs histotechnology.
