Decatur Dermatology & Aesthetics is a new independent dermatology practice launching in the heart of City of Decatur, led by Dr. Kelli Baender, a Mayo Clinic–trained dermatologist with more than 18 years of experience. The practice is being built around a simple idea: Accessible Excellence — expert, high-quality dermatologic care delivered in a warm, personal, community-centered environment.
We are hiring an experienced Front Desk Coordinator to help us create an exceptional patient experience from the very first phone call to checkout and follow-up. This is an important early hire for our practice. We are looking for someone who is not only strong at front desk operations, but also excited to help shape systems, workflows, and standards in a startup environment.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome patients warmly and professionally in person, by phone, and through digital communication
- Manage appointment scheduling for new and established patients
- Use ModMed / EMA for scheduling, registration, and front desk workflow
- Communicate with patients through Klara
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Confirm patient demographics, insurance information, forms, and appointment details
- Collect copays, balances, and payments at the front desk
- Support smooth daily patient flow and provider schedule management
- Answer patient questions clearly and professionally, escalating when appropriate
- Help reduce scheduling gaps, no-shows, and front-desk bottlenecks
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and help build front desk systems and procedures as the practice grows
- Maintain a polished, calm, organized front-of-house environment
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of front desk experience in a medical practice
- Experience with ModMed / EMA
- Experience with Klara
- Strong phone skills, scheduling judgment, and patient service skills
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Professional, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Comfortable joining a startup practice where systems and procedures are still being developed
- Interested in bringing prior experience and helping design better workflows
Strongly Preferred
- Dermatology, aesthetics, plastic surgery, or other specialty practice experience
- Experience scheduling both medical and cosmetic visits
- Insurance verification and eligibility experience
- Experience with front-end collections
- Experience helping document workflows, improve processes, or train others

Compensation
• Full-time
• Hourly pay: $20–$24/hour, based on experience

We want to be transparent: as a startup practice, we do not yet offer benefits at launch. We are actively working toward offering medical benefits in the near term and additional benefits, including financial/ retirement benefits, over time.
