In this pivotal role, you will manage clinical operations while leading a talented team committed to delivering outstanding patient care. Your leadership skills will be essential in fostering a collaborative environment that optimizes patient flow and ensures high standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the EMA ModMed superuser to support clinical staff and troubleshoot system issues.
- Act as the first point of contact for clinical queries related to medical supplies, staff coordination, and patient flow.
- Assist in training and onboarding new medical assistants, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for their roles.
- Monitor patient flow, reallocating medical assistants as needed to accommodate varying patient volumes and assist other teams during peak times.
- Ensure all medical assistants complete tasks related to patient care and contribute to team performance assessments.
- Oversee inventory management of medical supplies, including ordering, sorting, and storage.
- Support the Practice Manager in researching and resolving patient-related issues such as complaints, registration, and billing inquiries.
- Implement new clinical protocols and practices, ensuring the team is informed and compliant.
- Document and manage patient interactions in the EMR while adhering to HIPAA and infection control standards.
Patient Care Duties:
- Room patients and gather medical histories, preparing the examination rooms and surgical trays as necessary.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating their needs for a seamless workflow.
- Manage and document lab/pathology specimens following established protocols, and ensure timely communication of results to patients.
- Handle patient scheduling, prescription refills, and coordination of care with external specialists as required.
Operational Support:
- Conduct routine safety checks and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including cleaning and maintaining medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards for bloodborne pathogens and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
