Job Responsibilities
Managing Medical Question Line
- Monitor voicemail box and return patient calls
- Respond to patient questions while adhering to office protocol and the direction of the provider
- Maintain/update patient charts
- Schedule appointments when necessary
Managing Path Log in EMA
- Notify patients of abnormal results that need follow up, discuss diagnoses, and schedule appointments
- Transcribe discussions between providers and patients about results and enter the communication in the patient’s chart
- Ensure that all patients are contacted and scheduled
- Follow up with patients who have not returned our initial call, are not currently scheduled or have canceled their follow up appointment
- Set recalls for future appointments
- Identify patients that need a certified letter
Managing Portal Messages
- Review messages from patients to the providers/staff
- Route messages to appropriate staff to address messages
- Update the patient’s chart with photos that are sent through the portal
- Document all communication in patient charts and follow up as necessary
Managing RX Refill Line
- Monitor voicemail box
- Confirm prescriptions with pharmacies
- Respond to patient voicemails while adhering to office protocol and the direction of the provider
- Respond to electronic prescription requests received via EMA or fax machine and document the requests in the patient’s chart
- Schedule appointments when necessary
- Process Prior Authorizations
- Operate as a delegate in the iPLEDGE System
Maintaining MIPS Log
- All other duties as directed and assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Clinical experience preferred
- Effective communication, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Maintain strictest confidentiality
Physical Demands
- Employees may be regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard while performing the duties of this job.
