OverviewThe Lab Courier transports and delivers medical specimens, documents, packages and supplies timely and effectively. This position requires flexibility, reliability, organization and a good knowledge of the geographical area.

Route Details:
ResponsibilitiesEssential Function
- Deliver medical specimens, documents, packages, supplies, and other items to destinations in a timely and effective manner.
- Load vehicles with items being delivered, ensuring items are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.
- Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
- Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
- Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid United States driver’s license (probationary not acceptable) and an acceptable driving safety record.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Must have valid and current Driver’s license to operate a company or personal vehicle, with current auto insurance while on company hours.
2. Must be able to successfully meet driver safety standards.
3. Must be reliable and able to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour environment.
4. Must have basic understanding of computers.
5. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
6. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public.
7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
8. Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Physical Demands
1. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
2. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
3. Ability to sit for large portions of a workday.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
5. Ability to reach above, below and at shoulder level.
6. Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, squat, and climb.
