Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, the Senior Real Estate Accountant will serve as the subject matter expert for our extensive and growing real estate lease portfolio. You will manage the end-to-end accounting lifecycle for our leases, fixed assets, and property-related taxes. This is a critical role in ensuring our financial reporting keeps pace with our multi-site operational growth.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lease Accounting: Oversee the accounting for 130+ clinical and administrative leases. Ensure compliance with ASC 842, including lease classification, commencement, and subsequent measurements.
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the fixed asset ledger for all locations, managing capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking, depreciation schedules, and disposals.
- Property Tax Compliance: Manage the filing and payment of Business Personal Property (BPP) taxes and Real Property Taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Financial Reporting: Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis related to occupancy costs.
- Process Improvement: Partner with the Senior Manager to refine workflows for onboarding new locations through organic growth or acquisitions.
- Audit Support: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding lease and fixed asset inquiries.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Director of Real Estate to resolve discrepancies and improve workflows.

- Advanced Excel skills, such as pivots, lookups, and formula driven spreadsheets

Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- At least six (6) years of progressive accounting experience, with a heavy emphasis on real estate or multi-site retail/healthcare environments.
- Technical Expertise: * Deep understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and ProLease (or similar) is highly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
- Experience with fast-growing multi-site organization, preferably Healthcare related
- US GAAP experience, preferred
- CPA highly preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Administrativeoffice may have minimum visits to medical offices with possible exposure to procedure/exam room and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
