Overview
North Atlanta Dermatology is looking to add a Medical Assistant to our Duluth clinic. This position supports a provider across both medical and cosmetic dermatology and is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on and involved in procedures throughout the day.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Fridays end at 4:00 PM)

Responsibilities
- Room patients, collect intake information, and record vitals in the EMR
- Assist with dermatologic procedures such as biopsies and excisions
- Prepare instruments, procedure trays, and exam rooms
- Handle specimen collection, labeling, and lab coordination
- Support with anesthetic preparation and injections as directed
- Document patient visits and assist with scribing when needed
- Respond to patient messages, calls, and follow-ups
- Communicate pathology results and coordinate next steps
- Maintain inventory, stock rooms, and monitor supplies
- Clean and sterilize equipment in accordance with protocols
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed to support daily clinic operations
Qualifications
- Ability to assess patient concerns and communicate findings appropriately to the clinical team
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
- Experience obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for both medical and procedural visits
- Comfortable assisting with injections and other clinical procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology, as well as CPT and ICD-10 coding
- General understanding of front office workflows, including basic financial policies
- Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) and standard computer systems
- Ability to use everyday office equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-focused approach
- English fluency required (bilingual skills are a plus)
- Able to work efficiently in a high-volume clinical setting
- Works well with providers, team members, and patients in a collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel to nearby clinic locations as needed
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Able to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately
- Maintains accuracy when handling, organizing, and documenting patient-related information
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA) or CNA program is preferred, or a bachelor’s degree in a pre-med or pre-PA track
- Prior hands-on clinical experience in a Medical Assistant, CNA or similar patient care role preferred
- Dermatology experience is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to be on your feet, including standing and walking throughout the day
- Frequent movement such as bending, reaching, and positioning patients
- Use of hands for clinical tasks, including handling instruments and supplies
- Communicating with patients and team members both in person and over the phone
- Lifting or moving items up to approximately 30 pounds
- Working in a clinical setting with potential exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and medical sharps
