Full-Time Dermatology Physician Assistant Job in Napa Valley, California
Job-9395
myDermRecruiter is partnering with an established Northern California dermatology practice seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Physician Assistant to help meet growing patient demand.
With multiple busy offices and an established general dermatology patient base, the group is adding providers to expand access to care. This opportunity is particularly well-suited for an experienced PA who is confident practicing independently within their scope while recognizing the value of physician collaboration.
At a glance:
- Full-time position with a four-day workweek; part-time schedules considered.
- General dermatology focus with approximately 28 - 33 patients per day.
- Negotiable $130K base salary plus quarterly productivity bonuses.
- Projected total annual earnings of $175K - 200K+.
- Potential eligibility to buy into the practice after two years.
Why youll consider this role:
- Step into established patient demand. The practice's offices are already heavily booked, allowing you to focus on patient care rather than building a patient base from scratch.
- Maximize your earning potential. Quarterly productivity bonuses offer the opportunity to earn more than $200K annually as your productivity increases (based on the employer's projections).
- Explore a longer-term professional investment. The practice offers potential eligibility to purchase an ownership interest after two years, with specific qualifications and terms to be discussed.
- Enjoy a more consistent practice location over time. While you'll initially rotate between offices, the group anticipates transitioning this role primarily to a single office by the end of August 2027.
What youll do:
- Provide comprehensive general dermatology care to an established patient population.
- Evaluate, diagnose and manage common dermatologic conditions.
- Perform dermatologic procedures within your training, credentials and authorized scope of practice.
- Manage an anticipated patient volume of approximately 28 - 33 patients daily.
- Exercise sound clinical judgment, recognizing when physician consultation or referral is appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
- Initially provide coverage across multiple practice locations before transitioning to a single office schedule.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary: Approximately $130,000 annually for the full-time position (negotiable based on experience).
- Productivity bonuses: Paid quarterly.
- Projected annual compensation: Approximately $175,000 at 28 patients per day, with potential earnings exceeding $200,000 depending on productivity. (These are employer-provided projections, not guaranteed earnings.)
- Benefits: Medical insurance, 401(k), CME and professional licensing fee assistance.
- Ownership opportunity: Potential eligibility to buy into the practice after two years, subject to qualifications and agreed terms.
- Additional resources: Established clinical team and electronic medical record system.
Location:
Northern California | Napa Valley Region
This opportunity offers the chance to live and practice in one of Northern California's distinctive wine-country regions, with access to local restaurants, outdoor recreation and communities throughout Napa and Solano counties.
The practice would ideally like someone interested in making the Napa Valley area their home, as the role is expected to become primarily based there by late August 2027. Initially, you'll travel between multiple offices in the surrounding region.
Requirements:
- Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- At least three to four years of dermatology PA experience, with a strong background in general dermatology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an established dermatology patient panel with confidence and sound clinical judgment.
- Strong understanding of professional scope, including when to seek physician consultation.
- Willingness to work across multiple offices during the initial period.
If you're an experienced Dermatology PA seeking an established patient base, a four-day workweek and compensation that reflects your productivity, this opportunity could be the right fit for you.
