Job Summary: The Director – Internal Communications is responsible for partnering closely with Central Support functions and the Senior Leadership Team to deliver clear, consistent, and timely communication that strengthens engagement and supports provider and office staff retention.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Business Hours
Travel: While primarily a remote position, employee is required to attend semi-monthly in office cadence. From time to time, additional in-person team meetings may be required as well.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Communications Leadership
Develop and execute a cohesive internal communications strategy aligned to company priorities, cultural goals, and retention needs.
Serve as a communications advisor to leaders, guiding tone, clarity, and messaging strategy.
Partner with Central Support functions—including Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), Facilities, Regional Medical Leaders, Compliance, the Phone Support Center (PSC), and Marketing—to ensure communication is coordinated, timely, and supportive of field and provider workflows.
Lead communications planning for enterprise initiatives, organizational changes, and major announcements.
Provider & Office Team Engagement
Build a strategic communications approach specifically designed to support provider retention, recognizing the complexity and nuance of a diverse, multi-specialty clinical workforce.
Develop creative, segmented communication strategies that reflect the unique needs, schedules, and expectations of providers and front-line office teams.
Own the provider communications ecosystem—including newsletters, Teams channels, recognition programs, and event communications—to reinforce connection, trust, and consistency.
Translate complex clinical, operational, and corporate updates into clear, concise messages tailored to role, location, and workflow.
Partner with Regional Medical Leaders and HR to ensure communication meaningfully supports engagement, satisfaction, and long-term retention.
Content Development & Channel Management
Own day-to-day communication across all internal channels: intranet, Microsoft Teams channels, email newsletters, and digital signage.
Shape and produce content that reinforces culture, values, and connection—including DEI spotlights, recognition moments, and “The Schweiger Way.”
Prepare executive-level content such as CEO/internal blogs, leadership messages, video scripts, and presentations.
Change Management & Enterprise Alignment
Coordinate communication plans and timelines for cross-functional initiatives impacting providers and front-line staff.
Support communication during organizational changes, transitions, acquisitions, and sensitive situations with clarity, discretion, and consistency.
Manage and maintain the internal communications editorial calendar in partnership with Central Support leaders.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Track engagement, reach, and sentiment to understand what’s resonating and where clarity is needed.
Use insights to improve communication effectiveness, refine processes, and elevate overall workforce alignment.
Maintain listening mechanisms to gather feedback from providers, office teams, and Central Support.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or related fields, with 3+ years in a leadership or high-responsibility role.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Deep passion for writing—someone who genuinely enjoys crafting clear, compelling messages and can write quickly, thoughtfully, and often.
Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities across a large, multi-site organization.
Experience in change management and employee engagement strategy preferred.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including clinicians, front-line staff, and senior executives.
Experience with internal communications platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack, SharePoint, email automation tools).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and highly dynamic environment.
Demonstrated discretion, judgment, and maturity when handling sensitive information.
Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Salary Range
$150,000-$160,000
