Overview
We are hiring a Medical Assistant to support our North Atlanta Dermatology office in Duluth, GA. In this role, you’ll work closely with providers to support patient care, assist with in-office procedures, and help maintain a smooth and efficient clinic flow.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
May be asked to travel to our Suwanee clinic as-needed (mileage reimbursement provided)

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams, including intake and documentation
- Record vital signs and assist with patient flow throughout the day
- Set up and break down procedure rooms, trays, and equipment
- Assist providers during dermatologic procedures, including biopsies and excisions
- Handle and route lab/pathology specimens based on insurance requirements
- Respond to patient questions in person and over the phone
- Manage clinical task lists, nurse line messages, and follow-ups
- Maintain and sterilize instruments; track maintenance and calibration logs
- Monitor and restock medical supplies; remove expired inventory
- Support accurate EMR documentation and scribing as needed
- Assist with administration of local anesthetics
- Ensure timely handling of calls, faxes, and internal communications
- Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Experience obtaining vitals and preparing patients for visits
- Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards
- Ability to triage patient concerns effectively
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding
- Comfortable using EMR systems and standard office equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Team-oriented with a professional and patient-focused approach
- Willingness to travel to nearby offices if needed
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant, CNA program, or relevant bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–2 years of clinical experience in a medical setting preferred
- Dermatology experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 30 lbs)
- Use of hands and manual dexterity for clinical tasks
- Exposure to medical supplies, sharps, and clinical environments
