As our Mohs surgery program continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Mohs Histotechnician to become an integral part of our surgical team. This position is based primarily in our Queen Creek office, with occasional travel to our Chandler location to provide support as needed.

Position Summary

The Mohs Histotechnician is responsible for processing tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery, including embedding, freezing, sectioning, staining, and preparing high-quality slides for immediate interpretation by the Mohs surgeon. Accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

Prepare and process frozen tissue specimens for Mohs surgery
Embed, section, stain, and mount tissue using cryostat techniques
Produce consistently high-quality slides for physician interpretation
Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment
Perform laboratory quality control and maintain accurate documentation
Maintain laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed
Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and laboratory safety standards
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to provide an exceptional patient experience
Assist in maintaining an efficient Mohs surgical workflow

Qualifications

Previous Mohs histology experience strongly preferred
HT or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred, but not required
Experience using a cryostat and preparing frozen sections
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative team
Reliable transportation for occasional travel between our Queen Creek and Chandler offices
