ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain histological stains and dilutions in compliance with laboratory protocols.
- Process and embed tissue specimens precisely for microscopic examination.
- Prepare and section formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue specimens for histological evaluation.
- Perform routine and special staining techniques to enhance cellular structures.
- Maintain quality control procedures to ensure optimal slide preparation.
- Manage the labeling, filing, and storage of histological slides to maintain an organized laboratory environment.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Document all laboratory data accurately and consistently to meet quality assurance standards.
- Participate in training and mentoring new staff members or students as necessary.
- Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards as outlined by CLIA and OSHA.
- Perform other related duties as required by the laboratory supervisor.
- Uphold high ethical standards consistent with the company’s mission and values.
